Jadan's puffin flies into Flamborough

Forty-two giant puffin sculptures are now on show across East Yorkshire, including one sponsored by Jadan Press.

The puffin trail stretches far and wide across East Yorkshire, covering Hull, Bridlington, Withernsea and Hornsea to name just a few locations. The Jadan Press puffin, named 'Migration - The Dance of Life' was designed and painted by East Yorkshire sculptor Saffron Waghorn, and has been placed next to the café at Flamborough’s North Landing beach.

Each of the puffins have been sponsored by a local business and painted by an artist or organisation, and when the puffin trail ends, they will be sold. The proceeds from these sales will be donated to four charities which were selected for their important role in the protection of the wildlife of the seas and coasts or for their essential work saving lives at sea.

Our puffin was beautifully designed by Saffron Waghorn who has previously worked on the 'Moths For Amy' sculptures which appeared in Hull and East Yorkshire in 2016. Saffron said she was inspired by birds that migrate, such as swifts and swallows, and highlighted how hard their life is and their journey to reproduce and survive.

If you're up for the challenge, all 42 puffin locations can be found on the offical Puffin's Galore website - http://puffinsgalore.co.uk/ - so why not pop by to Flamborough and say hello to Jadan's puffin. You might even see a real life seabird as they are regular visitors to the cliff tops of that part of the world from mid May to mid July.
